Pencils hit eight as draws dominate Match Week 2
Match Week 2 of Season 01 served up plenty of stalemates and one very one-sided afternoon, with Pencils putting eight past Five Star to move clear at the top.
The 8-0 scoreline was the standout of the round, and in a 30-minute game it takes relentless pressure to rack up numbers like that. Pencils now sit first on 6 points from two games with a goal difference of plus 11, the best in the division by a distance.
Twigaz Kripsi kept pace in second on 5 points, edging a tight one at Rungu Jr where a single goal was enough to settle it 1-0. Rungu Jr will feel they deserved more from a contest that stayed goalless for long stretches.
The most entertaining game of the week came at Power Computers Jr, who came out 3-2 winners over Faders Touch in a five-goal thriller. That result lifts Power Computers Jr into fourth on 4 points, level with GF Trucks Jr in third and Auto Rovers in fifth, with goal difference separating the three.
Elsewhere it was honours even. Masumin Jr and GF Trucks Jr shared the points in a 1-1 draw, Reddot and Auto Rovers also finished 1-1, and Mahdi Sundries and AIRPRO could not be separated in another 1-1. Three draws from six fixtures says plenty about how evenly matched much of this league is turning out to be.
With the top five now packed between 4 and 6 points, only Pencils have real breathing room, and even that lead is built as much on goal difference as anything else. A single result in Match Week 3 could reshuffle the chasing pack entirely.
